Hi guys,
I recently bought a standard R5GTT and started by upgrading the engine a bit.
The mods that I have done are the following:
GroupA carb
twin core alloy intercooler
dump valve
bleed valve
Green filter, replacement element
After experiencing pinking I also replaced the mk1 ignition unit with a used mk2.
The pinking has stopped but now I have another problem. When I accelerate full throttle from low revs (say 2000) with 4th or 5th gear, when the turbo kicks in I get some kind of "hick ups" from the engine. Initially I thought it was fuel starvation so I replaced the fuel pump with an upgraded one. The problem seemed to have gotten better but hasn't disappeared. I then tried replacing the spark plugs with colder ones but still had no luck. All the above is with 0.9bar pressure. If I open the bleed valve to run any higher, the problem just gets worst. Do you have any ideas/ suggestions?

Is dit zodra je de hoge druk bereikt of nog eerder? Kijk eens naar de drukbegrenzer op de slang tussen intercooler en turbo, deze kan vroeg inhappen. Maar dit zou een heftige sputtering teweegbrengen, deze onderbreekt de onsteking namelijk als beveiliging voor teveel overdruk. Trek eens een stekkertje eraf en kijk 1x of het nog is?
The carb should already be rejetted to 135 as I bought it as a ready groupA. The pressure switch after the intercooler is disconected and cannot cut in and yes it does it when it gets to full pressure and not before.

I was already thinking of replacing the fuel pressure regulator but keep wondering why would it give problems only in that specific moment? As for the gap in the spark plugs, I have already done that (a tight 0.6mm).

a friend of mine had a similar problem. In his case it turned out to be a loose part in the tank. I think he mentioned a filter or a ring in the fuel outlet of the tank. I am not exactly sure, I think I'll meet him thursday or next week. I'll ask him form more details then.
