Need info about my engine.

Hello all,
sorry, have to write in English, my Dutch is non existent and my German no help anyway.
I have been given an old Renault engine with the number:
800
703
030129283
Can any one help me find out what car it was in, year of manufacture, horsepower, etc.
I would be very grateful for any help given.

Can u tell us something about the type of engine, not only some, for me 'non speaking' numbers.

The numbers are stamped on the engine block and all that I know for the moment is that it is a 4-cyl. petrol engine. It has been lying in the cellar of what used to be a Mercedes workshop, now in new premises, for a number of years. I had thought that the numbers would maybe mean something to somebody a bit more clued up than me (not difficult by any means) or that I could get some tips where or who to approach.

can you take 2 pictures of the engine. back side and front side. Back side is the place with the exhoust mainfold.

Maybe we can indentify it with pictures.

I guess its from a renault 6l or 6tl,
the 845cc engine is number 800 - 02 ....
made from 1970-1972, and capable of 34 DIN hp.

on the other hand now i look at it again, it looks like a engine from a r4

Engines are used in renault 4.
