The R19 with turbo diesel engine has also an intercooler, wich is mounted on the left side behind the bumper, but this is a small intercooler, and the airflow is not very well there. Maybe you can mount it behind the airintake in the frontbumper, in front of the radiator.
Good luck, and keep us informed

Hum.. good Ideia. but. In front of radiador have a a/c radiator..
.
.
nice...the "brasilian" edition has airco
Whe don't need it very much here unfortunality
Maybe you can still mount the intercooler in/behind the frontbumper, there is enough space there.....but I don't know what is does whith the engine temperature. You could mount it without hoses "for fake" to check what is does with the enigine cooling...Don't forget to drive with your airco on!

Do you have a precise link for pictures of your vehicle?
Ever thought of an air to water aftercooler? A chargecooler!?
Very compact system and a professional solution. High cooling efficiëncy close to or over 100% depending on system setup.

And goes nicely with a/c equipped vehicles!

hey speeds...
i talk to igor sometimes and they have cars running on alcohol...
(brasil remember?)
maybe he doesn't need a BIG cooler if using alcohol for fuel...
i don't know it for sure, but it's on option worth thinking of...

Gasoline have a 95~98 octanas
Alcohol have 112 octanas. !!!!
GREAT !
Im Running ONLY Alcohol and 7,5:1 in my R19 16S Turbo.

nope...
he means Compression Ratio 7,5:1
But i did not say ALCOHOL cost 3 dollars/liter,
normal pumpfuel does approximately 3 dollars/liter...

Even though they use methanol as an alternative fuel a chargecooling system should prove to be a benefit.PtrGte schreef:hey speeds...

It lowers intake aircharge temperatures so it (intercooler) lowers engine operating temperatures and therefore enhances engine life due to lower stress on engine components. Not even spoken of the benefits in torque (higher) and power output (higher).
And with the larger difference in altitudes to be taken in account a turbocharged engine with air charge aftercooling displays even lower loss of power with increasing altitude.
Even with the benefit of alcahol as an internal engine coolant I repeat my point that an aircharge coolin system should be standard issue on turbocharged "petrol"-engines.
I rest my case.
