Laguna undercarriage

I bought a Laguna second hand recently and there was a tow bar fitted already. Today I was was trying to reverse back up on to a curb and quickly discovered there wasnt enough clearance under the car as I was greeted with the terrible sound of metal on concrete!

When i gave a look under the car there appears to be nothing hanging down. However the id plate of the tow bar - the one that states the weight it can pull etc - did appear to be a bit bent.


As I am totally thick when it comes to cars I am wondering am I safe to presume that the sound i heard was the id plate scrapping? or could I have done more serious damage to the car's undercarraige. It is driving perfectly but I was wondering could I have now made the undercarraige more prone to rust due to the scrapping etc?

I would ask my garage to take a look next time i have it in being serviced but I dont fancy doing this as it is under warranty etc....

there aren't many drivers on this forum with tow bars on their cars,
(for the Dutch readers who don't understand shit: trekhaak )

but I am among the ones that do have a tow bar,

and I have drove it once onto a curb or something like that, while parking backwards (the 'ball' where you put the 'trailer' (?) on hit the curb)

I inspected it off course, nothing wrong with it.

I believe this stuff is quite heavy engineered, it won't immediately be broken or faulty.

The easiest thing to do is to just take a look, go lie under the car and inspect, if it was really the undercarriage of the tow bar, you should be able to see that. If you do not see anything, chances are there's nothing wrong and it was only the ID badge scraping..

Hope I made it a bit understandable, I am very good in understanding English, but typing complete sentences is really something else....
