hello, i would like to know if any of you like the new Dacia/Renault Logan. Here in Romania this new model "by Renault" scores huge sales and it is apreciated quite good. I understood that Logan sales are good also in Chech Republic, Germany and Israel. For the same amount of money what will you buy: a Dacia Logan or a Seccond Hand (over 100.000km)?

Dacia / Renault Logan
The Logan isn't for sale over here, as for a lot of other west-European countries.
That has a pretty good reason I guess and that reason would be that most Europeans don't like the look and the overall quality of the car.
That's the same reason I believe that the Clio saloon isn't sold in western Europe.
If I had the choise of buying a used car or a new car for the same amount of money I would always go for the second hand car, as it would be more luxureus and probably with a better build quality.
I guess you could say that we're just spoiled over here when it comes to cars.
My personal preference would go to a more sporty car, so I woulnd't even take it into consideration if I were looking for another car.
Another reason for me not buy a new car would be the depreciation. In Holland a new car loses its value extremely fast, so after 2-3 years a car isn't worth half of the listprice when it was new.
But I must admit that it's a good and cheap alternative for people who just want a good car to get them from A to B without a lot of trouble.
This is just my personal opinion offcourse.

The Dacia Logan is GOING TO BE sold in here too. But, in comparision to other cars, its scores on test like crashing, braking, handling are far, far under European qualities. To bad, could be a hit. A test is to be found in the Autoweek magazine.
