everybody wants a R9 now

guys i had this 2300 rpm problem for a while now , i know
a lot people say its the road speed sensor on the speedo cable or
the black wire is not earthed properly .
i have earthed the wire twice and even changed the speedo cable
with a brand new one to eliminate this . the problem is still there ...

mine does it for the first 5 minutes from very cold .
when driving i can feel the power is going down slowly but as
soon as i dip the clutch pedal revs go up to normal . so it has got
something to do with the engine being under load !!

-i have changed the idle control ...

williams f7r engine , no catalytic converter or power steering .
2" stainless steel exhaust system .
engine runs great and pulls like a train .
but sometimes it will idle like this in the video , but once
the water temperature is around the first line on the gauge
everything is fine.
any ideas ...

You can try Renault 5 GT Turbo shocks (with lowering springs) but you have to modify the upper mounting because the bolt holes on the shock and on the car are not the same.
I was going to try it on my Renault 9 once, but before I could fit them I sold my car :wink:

i have just finished my r9 16v converison
and want to lower it on some uprated shocks and
springs as well as the rear end .

i would appreciate any input on what sort of lowering kit
to buy and how low i can go at the rear without messing the
handling and the drive comfort as this car is gonna be ...

what loom did you use ??? r19 16v or clio 16v ??

now i got a dash loom from a clio 16v complete with both fuse boxes ,fuses ...

decided to put a f7p engine in the renault 9 now .
due to the renault 9 being a less popular car along the range
i cant find a lot of documentation on the net or elsewhere .
so i will raise the questions here ,
would appreciate any tips and help
from people thats done this sort of conversions ...

i want to change the looks of my ph2 renault 9 1.7 gtx
by using the headlights ,grille and the headlight surrounds from
a ph1 renault 9/11 with twin headlights .
i will keep the original ph2 bumper and install some custom indicators on there ,so there is no problem as yet .

WEll, all I can say is that probably the 19 subframe wil fit onto the 9 chassis :)
What is the diagonal distance of the bolt-holes?

i did not measure the diagonal distances but as far as i can see under both
cars ,there is a good chance it will fit .
this will be easier to see once the engine is ...

had another idea after thinking for a while .
i know the megane and non 16v 19 springs have the same coil pattern
with my r9 1.7 and i got some megane lowering springs in the shed ,(they are really short and stiff ones ) but when i fit them on to the standard r9 shocks the spring will be loose in ...

You should measure the mountingpoints from the subframe of you're 9.
I had once the idea to put also an complete 19-16v engine with subframe under my 9. (also the idea of the pre

The mountingpoints from the 19-16v subframe are in the front are 82 cm from left tot right, the points in the rear 80cm ...

f2n mounts, try mounting them on your f7p engine. I am quite sure the engine fits perfect onto your R9 then. IN the worst case, u need to play around with powersteering and dynamo brackets.

i dont want the power steering at all to be honest .
so i suppose i will fit a dummy pulley in there ...

compared the engine and gearbox mounts on my
19 16v today and they look quite different to the ones
